Sophisticated Engineering

The Marantz AV8805A offers an outstanding construction for the best, unaltered music and movie playback. The highly rigid base chassis – the foundation for all circuit boards carrying the sensitive audio signal – leaves no chance for microphonic effects through unwanted vibration. The oversized toroidal transformer feeding the big main capacitors is set on an extra 5mm aluminum pedestal for extra stability. All electronics are supported by copper plating on the main chassis which guarantees the best ground connection at any point and improves Signal to Noise behavior significantly. In total, 17 single-board HDAM modules are used to achieve the best channel separation for reference-setting audio performance. Finally, everything is exceptionally well covered by a heavy top lid constructed out of three pieces.

The new Marantz AV8805A includes 8 HDMI inputs and 3 outputs for all your favorite sources. One dedicated 8K input supports 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz pass-through capability, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling, Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10+, 21:9 video, 3D, and BT.2020 pass-through while the latest HDCP 2.3 copy protection standard is supported on all HDMI inputs. Showcasing all the latest HDMI technology and specifications, the AV8805A lets you take your home entertainment to the next level with HDR10+, Dynamic HDR, ALLM, VRR, QMS, and QFT support. The video processor can also upscale your native video source up to 8K quality.

The Marantz AV8805A may be controlled with your Smart TV remote via the HDMI CEC functionality associated with your Smart TV. Simply set “HDMI Control” to ON in your receiver, then set “Smart Menu” to ON and begin controlling the AV8805A with your TV remote. The Smart Menu home screen provides you quick access to source and surround mode selections, the AVR's setup menu and four Smart Selects.

The Marantz AVR Remote app for iOS and Android provides complete control over the latest Marantz network AV receivers and pre-amps. Use it to power on/off, adjust volume, input, and settings, or switch instantly to the HEOS® Built-in app.

Convenient Smart Select Functions

The included remote has four Smart Select function buttons so you can store your preferred or frequently used settings and call them up easily on the fly — including input source, volume level, sound mode, Audyssey configuration and even “All Zone Stereo” setting for party mode. With the push of a button, the AV8805A instantly configures the receiver to your desired setting at any time.

Easy Setup Experience

The AV8805A Quick Start Guide provides simple and direct instructions to get started. Once you connect your TV to the AV8805A via HDMI, the Marantz Setup Assistant appears on your TV screen and guides you through setup. The Setup Assistant helps you establish crucial settings for the best possible sound quality, whatever your configuration. The AV8805A will also rename HDMI inputs automatically when connected or you can rename them manually at your convenience.

Advanced Audyssey MultEQ XT32

Equipped with the full Audyssey Platinum suite of advanced DSP algorithms, the AV8805A features Audyssey MultEQ XT32 automatic room acoustic correction. With the supplied measurement microphone, MultEQ XT32 analyzes each speaker's output (including the subwoofers) at up to 8 measurement locations and generates precision digital filters that optimize each channel for the correct frequency and time domain response. Audyssey Sub EQ HT provides individual DSP tailoring of each subwoofer in a dual subwoofer setup for deeper bass with improved definition.

Audyssey Dynamic Volume smooths out disruptive jumps in volume (such as TV commercials), letting you listen at lower levels while still enjoying clear dialog, music, and sound. Audyssey Dynamic EQ provides full-range clarity at any listening level, and Audyssey Low Frequency Containment uses advanced psychoacoustic algorithms to deliver a full-range balance, including deep bass, without disturbing neighbors or people in other rooms of your home. Plus, the Audyssey MultEQ Editor app lets you view and adjust settings for detailed tuning and customize the sound more precisely to your room and tastes.

External Control Capabilities

Features external RS232 and IP control capabilities for easy customization and compatibility with third-party integration solutions. The Marantz AV8805A offers IP control capability for major third-party control devices, as well as Control4 SDDP (Simple Device Detection Protocol) certification for seamless integration with Control4 home automation equipment. IR (infrared) remote control input and output are included on the rear panel for remote control compatibility with other components in your home theater system.

The AV8805A features OvrC and Domotz Pro, two major remote monitoring and management technologies, and a dedicated web user interface to set up the AV receiver from a computer on the same network.
